Additional InformationIn general, those used for diagnostic purposes are cleared within 24 hours. Some, e.g. radioactive iodine, have long half-lives and affected donors must not be accepted unless at least six months have passed. This is because we do not wish to transfuse radio-active material to recipients, particularly where it may affect a child or an unborn baby.
Reason for changeA 'Definition' of 'Radionuclides' has been added.

The 'Additional Information' has been extended.
