Additional Information | A stoma is usually performed either for malignancy or inflammatory bowel disease. It may be temporary or permanent. If it is clear that a stoma has been performed for a different reason, that itself would not lead to deferral (e.g. following an accident or non-malignant obstruction), it is possible that the donor may be accepted. If there is any doubt: Refer to a 'Designated Clinical Support Officer'. |
